Meet Christy

I was born in Bulverde, Texas, a small town in between Austin and San Antonio, Texas. I went to Smithson Valley High School and enjoyed playing volleyball, basketball, and track. My mom is a retired teacher/coach/athletic director of 29 years as well as my stepdad is also a retired teacher of 22 years. 

I graduated with a bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University (Gig’ Em!) in 2002. I received my MBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University in 2008. I spent 10 years at Texas Instruments in Global Operations and Finance running several P&L's for different business units. 

In 2012, I met my husband Chayson and we were married in 2013. In 2014, we were blessed and over the moon with our first child, Moses. In 2016, we were so excited to be blessed once again with our second child, Micah. I was later recruited to Dell EMC and was there for 7 years running Global Operations. 

In 2020, I was recruited to run Global Sales Operations for GlobalFoundries and that's what brought us to Austin from Dallas. We chose Lakeway to sink roots as it is the perfect place to raise a family. I was so excited to be back in the Hill Country and move "back home." My brother and his family live in Dripping Springs and I have other family in Wimberly and the city of Austin. 

In 2021, I decided to attend Substitute University and started subbing during my vacation days.  I wanted to help alleviate the teacher shortage that was happening during Covid. After a successful IPO at GlobalFoundries, I decided to take a break from the corporate world and get more involved with the school district and starting exclusively subbing at Rough Hollow Elementary and currently Serene Hills Elementary as we were part of the most recent rezone. Our boys are very diverse as Moses is very into all sports: flag football, soccer, swimming, basketball, select baseball and while Micah will sometimes play sports his love is theatre, singing, and playing the piano. We live in Rough Hollow and the Lord has lead us to a wonderful church, Lakeway Church.  We love this community and the people so much and I look forward to the great opportunity of serving this amazing district!
